This has been a tremendously difficult decision, as the event celebrates everything unique about our region – our food, beverage, and entertainment offerings – and we recognise the impact this has on our local suppliers.
Unfortunately, ticket sales have been slower than anticipated, and following discussions with Entertainment Venues, we believe this is due to a growing surge in influenza cases across our region and the recent natural disaster declaration for Gunnedah, Narrabri, Tamworth, Uralla, and Walcha.
Many may also be unaware that Dungowan Brewery itself was impacted by the recent flood event. We have concerns about our ability to deliver a pristine event footprint should there be further rain between now and the scheduled dates.
Ticket Refunds
All ticket holders will receive a full refund from Entertainment Venues in the coming days. We thank you in advance for your patience while this process is complete. My understanding is that the refund will appear in your account within 5 working days of the refund, depending on your financial institution. If Entertainment Venues are unable to make an automatic refund, they will contact you direct via phone.
Special Invitation
Although the event will not proceed, we have reopened Dungowan Brewery (inside the restaurant and on the undercover deck) to the public for that weekend. We invite you to join us on either day and enjoy 15% off your bill when dining with family or friends. Live entertainment performed by solo artist Sarah Head will be featured during lunch service on both days.
If you wish to take up this offer, please reply to this email with your preferred day (Saturday 23 or Sunday 24 August), reservation time, and contact number, and our team will be in touch to confirm your booking.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding. This decision was made with your best experience in mind, as we only ever wish to deliver the highest quality events.
It is with our deepest regret that we announce the cancellation of Dungowan Day Out, which was scheduled for Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August at Dungowan Brewery.

As a general word of warning, please beware of purchasing tickets from unauthorised sites. If you purchase tickets from a general sale site such as eBay, Facebook or Gumtree, you are at risk of purchasing from a fraudulent seller, who has intentionally sold the same ticket multiple times. Such sites can also be at risk of listing stolen tickets, fake tickets, tickets purchased with stolen credit cards, and tickets that have already been cancelled.
Please note that Dungowan Brewery will be closed to the general public on this day and no walk-up bookings will be accepted.
